I took my 3 year old there from when he was 1 and now he's at pre-school I've just started taking along my 7 month old. The toys are spotlessly clean and the staff and other parents are very friendly. The song time is well-organised with the same format each week so the children soon get to know the routine. I definitely recommend giving it a try - you won't be disappointed.

Playing with all the toys the singing with rattles & puppets & the bubbles and parachute are great fun. We have just celebrated Olly'y 1st birthday with a little Monkees party which was fantastic. The kids loved it & the mums enjoyed doing the Okey Cokey!! Jo & Gordon are really friendly & make you feel very welcome. I would definately recommend this group as we look forward to going every week (& it tires Olly out so he has a nap & I have a rest afterwards).

August 2009 Sophia says: Our little boy, George, has been going to Little Monkeys club in Hutton for about a year since he was just under 1. It was the first opportunity he had to mix with other toddlers and it's just the perfect amount of time for him each week. There's half hour of play on the toys (which inc slides, ride ons, ball pond, wendy house etc and a bouncy castle) then a half hour of singing and play with puppets, some bubble fun and then a "bye bye" from Bo-Bo. The husband and wife who run the club are really friendly and helpful. Most of the other mums (and dads) there are the same and it's just an easy going, nice place to take the little ones each week.

August 2009 Dee says: My 3 year old has been going to this group since she was 6 months old and has enjoyed every minute. All the toys are kept very clean and the play arena is well padded so it is safe and secure for them to play. It is also one of the few groups that stays open during the summer holidays. This is not only a good place for the kids but a good place to meet other mums. Kelly is fantastic with the kids and we were very sorry to say goodbye today which was sadly our last session as my little girl is starting pre-school in Sept. Bye Kelly and Gordan and hopefully see you again if I ever go on to have baby no 2.

August 2009 Gemma says: I've been attending Little Monkees for almost 2 and a half years, over this time, not only have my girls been kept entertained come rain or shine, i have also had the pleasure of meeting lots of other friendly local Mums, along with staff who have always been extremly professional, warm and welcoming. At the beginning of the year they provided entertainment at my youngest daughters birthday party which was very well organised and delivered in a style that kept the children of all ages engaged. The toys etc are all kept clean and in good condition, I would recommend this group to any parent and would like to thank the team esp Gordan and Kelly for the tea and good laughs over the years.

May 2009 Kelly says: I used to take both my daughter and then my son to the Little Monkees group in Hornchurch. I loved this group and so did both my children!!! All the toys were so clean and such a wide variety. Being aged banded meant that I never needed to worry of my baby being accidentally hurt by an older child, or vice verser and the toys changed as you moved up the groups so the children had something new to play with and never got bored! The padded arena is also a comfort as the children can run around in safety and you know that they can't get out and the babies can lie / crawl in comfort and they stay clean - hated taking my baby to toddle groups in halls as the floors were always filthy! Can't recommend this place enough, I'm just sorry my children are too old to go now.

There is music for them to play along to through the session and the singing and music section at the end is great. The bubble machine at the very end is a massive hit wth my little Henry too. It has a great mixture of relaxed free play and structured music time where they have loads of fun doing different musical activities but they also have to start to learn simple social skills like taking it in turns to meet Bobo the monkey, choosing and sharing instruments and best of all - tidying up!!! My daughter sings the tidy up time song when we're at home now, it's great! Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere, would highly recommend it

I went alone so was a little nervous when I arrived, but Kelly immediately made me feel welcome and explained what goes on. Zach had lots of toys to play with and I am sure he really enjoyed himself. It was good how the sessions were in age groups and I never felt like the newbee. I would highly recommend Little Monkees to any mum.

I am now taking my 2nd child there the 1st one went until after he started pre school, he loved it so much and my 2nd loves it too. The age banding is great so you dont have to worry your boysterous 3yr old is going to hurt a 4 month old. The toys are adjusted for the ages so there is always something new when you move up a group. The staff are great and very friendly. The toys, puppets and instruments are always clean and the enclosed soft play environment makes for safer play and exploration. The cup of coffee in the older groups is just a bonus

This is one of the best mother and toddler groups I have found. I have been taking my son since he was 6 months (now 18 months) and he really enjoys it as do I.

The team are professional, enthusiastic and friendly. The other parents are friendly and chatty too. The play area is safe and padded and the toys are of a VERY high standard.

I struggled to find a good parent and toddler group in my area until I came here. I wanted a place where my son could not only meet children of a similar age but a place where we could keep coming as he grew. As a mum who didn't have the advantage of being part of an antenatal group I really wanted to find somewhere where we could interact with other parents and toddlers.

I've met lots of fantastic parents at the group and my son has learned so much (i.e. actions to songs, sharing, puppets, helping put toys away).

The first session is free, which is a great way to try before you have to make any decisions.

I cannot praise Little Monkees enough.

The organisers are really friendly and as the format changes each week, with different songs, puppets etc- my son is amused and captivated each time (which is good going for him as he seems to have a short attention span!) Definitely good value for money and a nice way to get to meet other Mums. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

August 2008 Louisa says: I went to the tuesday group when my son was in the 0-18month age bracket last year and we really enjoyed it. It's so cheap and the ladies that run it are always so helpful as they often get the tea for you if baby is in your arms! We now go on a friday where the age group is 18months+ to pre-school and we both enjoy this group too, it has a very friendly enviornment and is also very reasonably priced compared to other groups for this age group.

He was nervous as a small baby but he is turning out to be quite sociable - I'm sure this is partly due to taking him along to groups like little monkees. The group is beautifully structured (but in an invisible way), that encourages the babies to take control of their own learning. The staff are lots of fun and the babies just love it.
